The Nintendo Wii's Configuration
Nintendo indicates that the
  • Wii is its smallest home game console yet, and is only about the thichknss of three standard DVD cases, and perhaps slightly longer.
  • It has the ability to stand vertically or horizontally.
  • The console's front has a self-loading media drive of 12cm Wii optical discs and GameCube 8 cm optical discs( uncommon in usual slot-loading media drives), and which is illuminated by a blue light.
  • There is a small attachment that can be used to play DVD video.
Nintendo Wii's Price: While Nintendo is yet to make an announcement regarding the price, official indications confirm that the Nintendo Wii would cost no more that $ 250 in the U.S. , roughly 150 pounds in the U.K.and 25,000 yen in Japan.
Games In Development
While Nintendo has not yet released an official list of launch titles, the following titles are reportedly available as of June 2006 - Avatar,The Last Airbender, Blitz:The League, Call Of Duty, Dragon Quest Swords, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles:The Crystal, Excite Sword, The Legend of Zelda:Twilight Princess, etc.
Backard Compatibility
Nintendo has confirmed that Wii would be backwardly compatible with all of GameCube Software and with most of the peipherals. This compatibility can be achieved through a set of ports that are concealed by a panel on top of the Wii.The two GCN memory card slots and the four GCN controller ports are the GameCube itself, so the GameCube-Game Boy Advance Cable, and the GameCube Microphone should be compatible. The GameBoy Player attachment however, does not seem compatible on account of how the unit would be attached to the base of the GameCube.
Online Connectivity:Virtual Console
This service allows users to download and play virtual games from NES, Super NES, Mega Drive/Genesis, Nintendo 64 and TurboGrafx-16.While there price is not confiemed , informed sources indicate that low-scale new games could be sold at a price between JP 500 yen and JP 1000 yen.

Therefore we note that the advent of these three gaming machines, the Xbox, the Sony PS3 or the Sony PlayStation 3, and the Nintendo Wii- the last two are yet to be unreleased game consoles- have had a huge impact on the current generation of video game console users, and video game system reviews indicate that they have taken console gaming to a new level with the seventh generation era witnessing several advances in video game hardware.
